I was recently invited to conduct a technology workshop for members of the Gamma Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honor society of women educators. I enjoyed speaking with this small group of active and retired teachers about Google features they could use in and outside the classroom.
Here are some of the resources I shared:
- Better searches. Better results., “some nifty modifiers to type in your Google search box to refine your searches and get the best results” (PDF).
- Google Inside Search
- Google in Education
I didn’t get a chance to show any of the videos I found there- we spent too much time finding recipes and researching earthquakes– but, while preparing for the presentation, I discovered Google Demo Slam, a collection of fun, creative short video demos of Google products and features. I think this modern take on Chubby Bunny, a game I remember playing as a kid, is a cute and clever way to demo Google Voice Search:
Google in Education was a dutifully good source. I LOVED the chubby bunny video. I missed out ono that game as a child.
